How can we create a platform that offers global access to mass timber projects, serving a wide range of users without overwhelming them?

Result
The prototype gained high interest at the Rothoblaas Mass Timber Seminar, and the platform launched with 768 entries, projected to reach 2,586 by Q4 2024.

Takeaways from Global MTD
Leading design and growing through collaboration
This project gave me the chance to lead the UX/UI process from concept to launch. After presenting the prototype, I continued beyond my internship, expanding my role to hand off screens to developers, ensure accessibility, and explore potential ad spaces. The launch was a huge milestone, though I wish we had more time for testing. Still, I’m excited that some features will roll out in the next release.
The biggest takeaways for me were the soft skills—collaboration, communication, and time management. Working with cross-functional teams was both challenging and rewarding, and it showed me how messy but fun the creative process can be.
As I wrap up, I leave with more than just a project. I’ve gained confidence, a passion for using UX to drive sustainability, and a readiness to tackle complex challenges with collaborative solutions. I’m excited to push the boundaries of design in future projects.
